めくるめくラグジュアリーなスーパーヨットの祭典 『モナコ ヨット ショー』をリサーチ！

F1の世界選手権レース、『モナコGP』に並び、モナコの街がお祭ムードで盛り上がるのが、
毎年９月に行われる『モナコ ヨット ショー』です。
何を隠そう、編集長が今回モナコを訪れたのも、このイベントを見るのが最大の目的！
この日のために、世界中から最新鋭のスーパーヨットと、ヨットをこよなく愛するエリートたちが集結する、
ラグジュアリーで夢のような一大イベントなのです。
ヨットとはいえ、ここで展示されているのは、私たち日本人が思い浮かべるヨットとは、まったくの別物。
全長２５〜１２０ｍにも及ぶスーパーヨット、メガヨットと呼ばれる船は、ヘリポートも完備しているほど大型で、
その芸術的で豪奢な内装は、まるで海に浮かぶホテルか宮殿のよう！
早速、OCEAN Independenceのチャーターヨット、『TITAN』へ潜入してみました。
全長６０ｍのこちらのヨットは、オーナーキャビンのほか、５つのゲストルームを備えたなんともゴージャスなつくり。最大で２４人も泊まれるのだとか。
中に入るやいなや、編集長の「凄い！ 本当にホテルみたい！」という歓声が何度もあがったほど。(笑)
モダンなインテリアでしつらえられた室内は、寝室やバスルームはもちろん、広大なリビング・ダイニングや、ラウンジまで完備。
こんな船で世界の港を自由に旅できたら、本当に素敵ですよね。モナコのエルキュール湾をバックに、いつかはきっと？と誓った編集長でした。

Exploring the Monaco Yacht Show: A Dazzling, Luxurious Super Yacht Fest!
Along with the F1 world championship race the Monaco Grand Prix, the Monaco Yacht Show conducted every September envelops the principality in a festive, celebratory mood. The main reason why I visited Monaco is to see this major event, where super yachts from around the world and the elite who love them gather for this magical day.
While they are called “yachts,” the yachts on display here are totally different from what we Japanese visualize as yachts. Boats that are called “super yachts” and “mega yachts” measure 25-120 meters in length; with some so large that they are equipped with heliports. With artistic and extravagant interiors, these boats are almost like hotels or palaces floating on the sea!
I immediately set foot into “Titan,” the chartered yacht of Ocean Independence. This 60 meter gorgeous yacht has a main owner’s cabin and five guest rooms, with a maximum capacity of 24 people. The minute I stepped into this yacht, my cries of “Amazing! It’s really like a hotel!” were heard a number of times, LOL. Furnished with modern pieces, the interior consisted of a grand living room, a dining room and even a lounge, aside from the bedrooms and bathrooms. Isn’t it really wonderful to freely visit the world’s ports in this kind of a yacht? Against the backdrop of Monaco’s Hercules Bay, I vowed that I surely will, someday.
